On Robert's marriage certificate it gives his father as Richard Barnard. I assumed, mistakenly, that Richard was from Elm, Cambs but upon checking census records, 1841 and 1851 have found out he came from Bradfield, Norfolk. Also checking via RootsChat Cambs lookups this was confirmed.
Can anyone tell me when Richard was born and where, anything about his parents etc. I also have him marrying someone called Elizabeth. Elizabeth whom? Where was she born etc. Does Robert have any siblings?
If I am asking too much please let me know but I desparately want to knock the wall down!
Any help would be appreciated.
With many thanks - eagerly awaiting!! Loupy
If you have checked the 1841/51 census then you should have the brother of Robert -and ages of richard and Elizabeth? ?

the entries on IGI are member submitted - so are to be treated with caution and little information is given as to further siblings
Richard age is given on 1851 so you will have to look around that time
It may be worth putting a request on norfolk board asking for baptism for Richard - stating IGI has a submitted record
if asking for Robert's siblings it may be worth stating you have already found Samuel -but baptism on IGI is member submitted -so request for parish reg look up would be a good idea
Hope this helps

You won't be able to get a marriage certificate at that date anyway, it will need to be an entry from a parish register. What I can tell you is that there is no Richard Barnard marrying in Norfolk between 1801 and 1837 near Bradfield or anywhere near the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border.
Unfortunately nothing from Bradfield has been added to Freereg yet, so you really need a baptisms look up of Bradfield circa 1780 for Richard and a more extensive search of the Elm registers to see if there were other children born in the parish and if a marriage can be found there.
