JEREMIAH HARE??
« on: Thursday 29 October 09 21:04 UTC (UK) »

Hi.

Im looking for Jeremiah Hare, Born abt.1851 in Cork City. He married Elizabeth Taylor in 1876. Elizabeth was also born in Cork City in 1851. I am looking for any information on the two. They moved to Dublin between 1886-1893. They had three children William (30 in 1911), George (25 in 1911) and Robert William (18 in 1911) William and George were born in Cork City but Robert was born in Dublin. Jeremiah was a Methodist but in the 1911 Dublin Census, his wife "Elizabeth" was listed as Church of Ireland along with the three sons.

Thanks Smiley Any info would be great.

According to the census they had 8 children 5 of which were still alive in 1911.

They were married in 1872 details as follows.

Jeremiah Hare
Registration District: Cork
Date: 1872
Volume 15 Page 77

Eliza Taylor {same registration details}

You can order a copy of the marriage record from www.groireland.ie

If you include the above information you can get a photocopy for 4 euro.
The form is not designed to include some of this information but include it where you can.

I found two children born on LDS

Mary Anne Hare 22-Dec-1875
Parents: Jeremiah Hare & Eliza Hare Taylor

She must have died young as a few years later we have

Mary Hare 01-Nov-1877 Cork
Parents: Jeremiah Hare & Eliza Hare Taylor

Why does the 1911 Census say they were married in abt.1876 then if they were married in 1872??

The years in Census can often be off. The census was usually filled out by third party who would have asked them approximately when they were married.
