Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone could do a marriage lookup for me please?
I am after the marriage of Henry Sheppard born abt 1829 in Lenton to a Mary Ann born abt 1835.
I have looked on Freebmd and only one comes up in Newark.

The 1861 shows them both as aged 30 and eldest child Clara as aged 10
Both b Lenton so Radford is the registration district
There is an 1849 marriage on freebmd of a Henry Shepherd and there is a Mary Ann Walker on the same page
Because of the differences in spelling Shepherd/Sheppard/Sheppherd etc etc - it may be best to get a copy of one of their childrens birth certs to find Mary Ann's maiden name

Hi both, thanks for the info. Carolew, the Henry and Mary Ann Sheppard you quoted are a different family! In 1871 my Henry and Mary Ann had a daughter called Harriet and this couple didn't! I had never realised that there were two families in the same area, in the same job, with the same parents' names before!

The 1871 entry you mention has them as Shepard - eldest child is son Henry aged 18 b Lenton so both the 1852 and 1853 marriages listed above are possibilities
However - I would still recommend a copy of one of their children's birth certs to establish Mary Ann's maiden name
