If you purchase the marriage cert it will give you the names and occupations of the fathers of the bride and groom

If Annie was illegit there would just be a line drawn through that section

However sometimes the witness are related and so can give further clues

The certificate will also give the age of Annie (or the ae she gave) and whether she was a spinster or widow.

Are you just guessing her y.o.b. and po.b. ??
I cannot find any Annie E Chambers b at that time in Birmingham - there are others around 1900 b in different counties

Name:     Annie Chambers
Age:    1
Estimated Birth Year:    abt 1900
Relation:    Daughter
Father's Name:    Patrick
Mother's Name:    Crargares
Gender:    Female
Where born:    Birmingham, Warwickshire, England

is from 1901 census but there is another Annie Chambers in Birmingham, same age, thats why i want to find the correct one from marriage cert before i carry on Smiley.

I would have thought she`d be down as Annie E as later in life she went by the name Elizabeth ( her middle name)

Thanks again

you really need to look at birth reg's instead of census

I couldn't find Annie E in Birmingham

There is Annie Elizabeth Chambers 1902 Tewksbury dist

and one in 1898 Stamford Dist

If she was Annie Elizabeth then that name should be on her birth reg - and not necessarily on the census

also - if she was born 1900 then she would be 26 at time of marriage - which really was older than the "norm" at that time - so there is a possibility she could be a widow - married young and widowed in the war???

You have to think of all possibilities

also sometimes people think they were born where they maybe grew up - and that isn't aalways the case
