Marshfield marriages and burials
« on: Friday 30 October 09 09:59 UTC (UK) »

Chatters all,

You may have noticed that the HW site http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyGloucester_(A-M).htm#M for Marshfield has no information from church records after the year 1693 and I can find no "hidden" batches.

I have ordered LDS film number 1849478 showing Marshfield parish registers for marriages, 1754-1912 and burials, 1781-1964.   I do not expect to find much to help me but if any of your family came from the place and you would like some info. from those years, please post your request as soon as possible.

The film may not arrive for a couple of weeks so please be patient.

Regards

Chas

Huh,

You will appreciate that to search every year of marriages and burials would take a long time besides needing a lot of aspirin Cheesy

Any info you can give regarding timeframe please?

Johngirl,

Sure I'll have a look to try to verify what you found submitted in the IGI BUT being what one might think unusual - I.I. - I knew I'd seen the name somewhere recently.

Have a look in my Resources messages index for Badminton and have a look at the second item.  You might be back another generation.

Johngirl,

I must get on with typing up my notes from Badmington from which I can confirm the extracted record for the I.I. baptism in 1811.

Matt,

OK, I'll have a look for some info for you but remember that the film does not cover baptisms.  I may need to order the film giving baptisms but that depends on what I find and will not be until mid-Feb next year anyway.

Watch this space!

I am particularly interested in the marriage of George Yeeles to Mary Ishmead in 1772.  I am also looking for the marriage of George Yeeles and Katherine who baptised several children between 1798 and 1812 in Marshfield.

I am also interested in Isaac Isaac born 1811 Marshfield.  I too have him married to Hannah Cooper 1836 Marshfield but mine is also from the IGI and another researcher - any other information would be appreciated.  His father was another Isaac Isaac from Badminton.

I have a number of families in Badminton that I am interested in.

Thank you for your kind offer of help.  It is much appreciated.

 Huh,

OK, I'll have a look to see what I can find for the marriages you mention.

By the way, the 1811 Isaac Isaac was baptized in Badminton not Marshfield.

Have a look at my Badminton transcription, you'll find more Isaacs and perhaps your other interests baptized/married/buried.

To all who asked for Marshfield info..

I had a look through some of the Marshfield marriage records today and found the answer to:-
I am particularly interested in the marriage of George Yeeles to Mary Ishmead in 1772.

Snipped

Transcription:-

"Banns of  marriage between George Yeels Batchelor of this Parish and Mary Ishmead Spinster of this Parish were published September 27  Oct'r ye fourth & October ye eleventh & were married in this ----------- by Banns this twenty fourth Day of October in the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Huh?? Two by me "Sam'l Michell"  Vicar"

"This Marriage was solemnized between Us (George Yeeles  {signed}
                                                          (Mary Ishmead her Mark  X"

"In the presence of Huh  Dyer;  Rob't Cox."  The latter name is on other records so likely to be a church official perhaps (Churchwarden, clerk etc.)

I will continue searching next week.

Regards

Chas

Hello Chas,
Could you kindly confirm a marriage of a John Shipton to an Ann Smith 16/04/1780? Are there any other Shipton marriages around this date or burials? Thank you for looking.
