Hello there!
Could someone tell me which parish I should look in for someone born in Stratford about 1802?
Are the records available online?
Many thanks
Ashley

Hi Ashley,
nearest to Stratford that I know of would be West Ham
http://www.westhamchurch.org.uk/history1.html
I don't know if the registers for this church are available online.

Hi Ashley,
Assuming that you mean Stratford in east London, a good place to look would be St. Mary, Stratford Le Bow... The Parish Records are available on Ancestry in the Tower Hamlets Index, good luck.

Ashley,
try asking on the London/Middlesex board. Stratford became West Ham then West Ham became a Greater London Borough. The LMA may have some records.

I've been through the St Mary le Bow records and she is not there, but thanks for the hint!
I'll try the London board.
Cheers
Ashley

Hello JosiahS
I see all your respondents quite rightly have concentrated on Stratford, London E 15 ( the site of the about to built Olympic Village ) but just to cloudy the waters, there is also Stratford St Mary, a tiddly little village, in Suffolk, but certainly within spitting distance of Essex, it's just up the A12, just beyond Dedham.
Regards,
Boblima
