That answers another question as to who Rosalie is as she appears on many socialite pages for Flatbush.

I looked at NY vital records and they cost 22$ a throw.

why oh why cant they belike some aussie records.

Thanks and you are right there must have been an earlier marriage. Louisa dies aged 76 she must have been quite a person looking after 12 kids with 5 from a previous marriage.

As for the 1890 Census, most of it was destroyed by fire.

For New York vital records, you have to be careful where you order them from - the New York State office does not have records for New York City or vice versa.  If the event happened in New York City, the information on ordering is here:  http://www.nyc.gov/html/records/html/vitalrecords/home.shtml  If you have a certificate #, the cost is $15 for older records.

Another alternative is to request copies from the LDS church of vital records they have on microfilm.  They are $2 a piece with a $4 minimum order.  The form is here:  http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/RG/images/FReqMicrofilm.pdf  You can see what's in their catalog by searching here:  http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp

Found a listing on Castle Garden for the family coming in from Genoa on the Emilie on 22/10/1867 however for some reason it doesnt include Francisus Henricus (Frank Henry) Klucken. he is said to be born Mainz Germany around 1822 a lithographer.

There is also another odd thing concerning an obituary from 1898 as follows
"Frank H. Klucken, a lithographer for 43 years with the former John Worley Co., music printers in Roxbury, died of heart disease Tuesday in St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford. He was 91 and lived in New Bedford. Dated 5/10/1898"

This is from a Queens newspaper.

Hi Barry.

I have seen a similar entry for a Frank H Klucken saying he was a Roxburgh Lithographer. Think this was the Boston Globe but it also said  - A native of Cambridge, Mr. Klucken lived in the Boston area until moving to New Bedford in 1982.

Made me wonder if it was a grandson !! ??
