Without Autumn there would be no Spring....

My great grandmother was an Eliza Merrick born Coppenhall, Staffordshire c1856. On her Marriage Certificate her father is named as a Benjamin Merrick. Can anyone find out anything about him for me please? I do intend to request her birth certificate, if possible, after the Postal Strikes are settled but in the interim.........?
I have done a little searching on Family Search but have not come to any satisfactory result.

Thanks for that. My grandmother was Mary Elizabeth so that fits in with the general picture. I will do what you advise, as I said before, when the Postal Strike sorts itself out. Then I want to find out if he had any siblings too. Trouble is, I want to run before I can walk.

Finally found them in 1851 in Penkridge - as Binjamin Maciak!! The enumerators handwriting leaves a lot to the imagination
