Merrick/Merricks of Staffordshire
« on: Friday 30 October 09 22:03 UTC (UK) »

My great grandmother was an Eliza Merrick born Coppenhall, Staffordshire c1856. On her Marriage Certificate her father is named as a Benjamin Merrick. Can anyone find out anything about him for me please? I do intend to request her birth certificate, if possible, after the Postal Strikes are settled but in the interim.........?

I have done a little searching on Family Search but have not come to any satisfactory result.

You need to lookup this entry at the records office or buy a copy of the cert as Benjamin is shown with 2 surnames

Thanks for that. My grandmother was Mary Elizabeth so that fits in with the general picture. I will do what you advise, as I said before, when the Postal Strike sorts itself out. Then I want to find out if he had any siblings too. Trouble is, I want to run before I can walk.

Thanks again, Carole. Dont work any longer tonight on my account.

I am off to bed. OH is reprimanding me again!

Night night.
