Is anyone able to see if my grandad, James HUDSON, is on the Absent Voter List for Manchester 1918. His address was Luke St, Cheetham
Thanks in anticipation

An alternative address may be Rudyard St, Harpurhey. That was the address in 1911

I have no access to the absent voters' list and I cant find a James Hudson in Rudyard Street in 1911, but, I do have a James Hudson as a witness at the marriage of my mother's sister Elsie Clulo age 22 of 17, Luke St., to Fred Hudson 24, of 18, Luke St. Fred's father was John Frederick Hudson a labourer. Do we have a connection? Fred and Elsie had 2 sons who are still alive, but I cant mention them here, it is not allowed. [you can pm me when you have made another post] Elsie and Fred lived in Luke Street for many years. I remember going there one new year, in the early 50s and watching Ruby Murray on TV! Kooky

Sorry, looked again at 1911 and James appears to be Fred's brother! Also the marriage was October 1924. Kooky

Thanks migky. That confirms the addresses.
It's unlikely the Osborne St Hudsons are related (unless it is William Henry who was born about 1859)

My sister was in Manchester yesterday and went to see the AVL. Jim was there at the Luke St address.
Many thanks to all who have helped. Your input has been invaluable.
I'm now marking this post as COMPLETED, once I can work out how to do it
