Look-up Elizabeth Ann FOLLAND

I have Elizabeth Ann Folland birth Torrington RD March quarter 1851. By 1881 she is married to George Churchill of Crewkerne and living in Dorchester, the census shows her birth place as Coryton, she is 29. The marriage is recorded in Honiton RD Sept quarter 1874.

Could someone please look for Elizabeth Ann in the Devon1851; 1861; 1871 censuses. Where was she born?

I'm not sure whether the three BMDs relate to the same person!

Sorry, I can't ID her in 1871  Sad

There's a death in Torrington district for an Elizabeth Ann Folland in 1865 - shame it's too early to show the deceased's age. There's also a possible marriage in Torrington 1867 but I can't ID an Enoch Thomas with a matching wife Elizabeth either.

Are you positive your George Churchill was George Henry? Given they don't have any children in 1881 yet, my first guess at a marriage would have been

Mar 1880 Dorchester 5a 509
George Churchill to possibly Elizabeth Sarah Davis

or Mar 1880 Dorchester 5a 504
George Churchill to possibly Elizabeth Somers

(The 1871 census shows an Elizabeth Somers born ca. 1852 Colyton)

On the Dolton census 1871 living at Halsdon Mill there is :
John Folland age 50.. road labourer ...born Dolton.
Mary Folland age47 ...........................born  ashreigney.
all children born in Dolton

I guess you are right Tati, in the 40s when I lived in Dolton there were still Follands living in the village, there are some Follands on the Dolton website www.dolton.org.uk  and many more at  www.mcmullin.plus.com

Sorry to give you further trouble but could you let me have details of this family in Dorchester 1891 census. There was a Tom Somers Churchill born Jul/Sept 1881. He may well have been my couple's son. Are there any other children?
