Please help to Find a Ship
« on: Saturday 31 October 09 12:46 UTC (UK) »

Hi

Ellen KING  born 1908 (lived in Halebank, Widnes, Lancashire) travelled from Southampton to South Africa in the latter half of 1947.

Can anyone tell me the name of the name of the ship and any other details that are written in the ship log books.

Many thanks for your help.

Hi

It would almost certainly have been the Capetown Castle or the Stirling Castle, of the Union Castle Line.

Passenger lists are available (usually at a small price) if you have a search around.

She arrived back in Southampton on the Capetown Castle on 19 March 1948.

Hi
Thanks for your comments.
I was hoping that someone might have access to Outgoing from UK passenger lists and could look up the Name of Ship and when she sailed from Southampton in 1947.
(I already have access to Incoming passenger lists)
