John Bean WALLIS - Veterinary Surgeon

Hallo,
I have a fair few roots in Herts but my notice here is regarding a Yorkshire chap.
John Bean Wallis was born and died in Yorkshire (East Riding).
He was a Veterinary Surgeon by trade but spent part of his life living in Cheshunt.
He was living in Yorks in 1817 when he married.  He was definitely living in Cheshunt in 1828 when his son John Petchell Wallis was born but he was back in Yorks by the 1851 census.
I am trying to find out about his time in Cheshunt.
I wonder where he lived and if his children were baptised there.
His wife's name was Mary.
I guess he could be mentioned in a directory but I cannot find any and I do not have access to the parish records to check on any baptisms.
Is anyone able to help?

PS
I also wonder why he went to Cheshunt.  It seems a long way for a Yorkshireman to go to.  Was there anything to do with the army or the militia there that might require a veterinary on site?   Huh

Hi Kirk,

Family Search IGI has extracted baptism records for John Petchell Wallis, Jane Wallis and Ann Wallis - all on same day 11 February 1827 Cheshunt.

The records don't seem to be online.
