Is anyone researching the Pook family from Barry. Wondering if anyone has info. on Alfred Owen from Dublin. Appreciate any info. Alfred father of Martha Edith Owen who marr. William Hopkin Pook 1918. Thanks, Regards, Syljun

hi syljun, i don't know if this is any good to you, i can't look further at the moment as i am away from home and do not have my books with me but:-

these are the pook family interned at barry cemetery.

there is a alfred owen buried 11-4-1904, i have the grave numbers if required, kali.

Thank you Ladyhawk. Alfred is the lodger at Whitby, Cheshire. His Marr. Cert. states Father Joseph Owen, Watchmaker. I have traced a Joseph Owen Watchmaker, Dublin in Thoms 1863 Trade Directory but unable to find Alfred's birth due to registration starting 1864. No other info. about Father Joseph or marriage.


Thank you Kali for Pook family burials. I have found Alfred's grave. Just grass and probably under a tree as per Cemetery plans.

Alfred died Bridgend Asylum and I have medical report and a photograph but would like to know more about him as he stated he was in Army in India but cannot find any Army reference.Also cannot find him on any previous Census other than 1891 and 1901.

Thank you both for your help and hope someone can find answers for me.
