Hi
I am researching a John Barnes and his family from Great Yarmouth.
I have now built up a likely family from online information and would be grateful if someone could either check some information for me from the St Nicholas parish records - or otherwise confirm details if they have other resources available.
Firstly, I am looking for a baptism of a John Barnes between 1787 and 1795 at St Nicholas with parents possibly Jeremiah and Mary Barnes. John got married in 1812 to, i believe, Mary Ann Cooper.
I am then looking for baptisms for Johns children. As two John Barnes married Mary's about the same time i would like to see if the father's trade is listed. My John was a butcher according to the 1841 Census and i think that this may have been a family trade.
I believe John and Mary's children to be:
Charles Nollorth Cooper Barnes - bap 18/01/1813 (an online resource lists the father as a butcher which gives me hope for the others below!!!) John Barnes 29/08/1814 Mary Mileham Barnes 20/08/1816 Louisa Rachel Barnes 06/11/1818 Sarah Maria Barnes 07/07/1819 Jeremiah Barnes 11/12/1820 James Barnes 24/01/1822 Elizabeth Barnes 24/02/1823 Thomas (Slater) Barnes 20/04/1825 James Barnes 04/01/1827 Harriet Barnes 14/02/1829 George Barnes 17/09/1832
I have John Barnes and Mary on the 1841 Census living in St Nicholas, Great Yarmouth, although cannot find them in 1851. I therefore suspect that they died between 1841 and 1851.
Could someone please lookup the following potential burials to see if they yield any further clues:
John Barnes (aged abt 60'ish):
Great Yarmouth Dec Q 1849 Great Yarmouth Jun Q 1850
Mary Ann Barnes (aged abt 55-60'ish):
Great Yarmouth Mar Q 1843 (Mary) Great Yarmouth Jun Q 1847 (Mary) Great Yarmouth Dec Q 1847 (Mary) Great Yarmouth Mar Q 1849 (Mary Ann - most likely)
Of the other Mary Barnes i am also looking for a death of John's potential mother Mary Barnes aged between 85 and 95'ish also between 1841 and 1851.
Can anyone please help me with my research.
Thanks in advance.
