Hi.
Can anyone tell me what religion was Holy trinity church in Gee cross Hyde ? and if they know of a National trinity school in Gee Cross in earlier days like 1905? and was this trinity school the same as holy trinity school and church back in 1903 as my gt grandma Florence Charlotte Cottam was married at Holy trinity church Gee cross Werneth area on the 22nd feb 1903 she was 24 years old. Florence and Daniel had a son James Harrison , trying to find out if he was christened at that Church. He was born June 1903 and died at 5 in dec may have been burried 13 Jan on my birthday. at Stockport. My father Albert Harrison Broadhurst went to Holy Trinity school at Geecross, however was christened at St Marys Newton Hyde 4 months later than he was born, which was 13th Nov 1922 Not sure what religion , thought could be Wesleyan or methodist, I see the church mentioned said was Anglican and church of england? or are they two different churches feeling confused. I can try and attach a photo of James sister Gladys , if ican get hubby to help me, cant do that myself . appreciate any help if possible thanks.

Gee Cross is a Church of England ecclesiastical parish, formed in February 1880, the parish church is Holy Trinity. The Church of England is part of the Anglican Communion, see http://www.anglicancommunion.org/ Holy Trinity School was a National School, that is it was established by the "National Society for the Education of the Poor" established in 1811, by the Church of England. The schools became known as the "National Schools" Stan

Hello Babs I don't think they were Methodists as my 3x Gt Grandfather was the minister of Hyde Chapel & that was in George Street which you have not mentioned.
