Hi
Can some kind person please look up a marriage for me as there is nothing listed on the IGI for my ancestors so I don't yet have a surname for my female ancestor getting married. But I have this info from the IGI regarding offspring from the marriage, and the father was Jno Harrison and mother Nancy:
Betsey chr. 13 Nov 1791, died 1791 Ralph Bower chr. 17 Feb 1793 George chr. 01 Mar 1794 Henry chr. 15 Dec 1795 William Ibbeson chr. 19 May 1797 Nancy chr. 05 Sep 1799 All christened in Mottram in Longendale.
Father is Jno and I think that is shorthand for John as I had an 1841 census [though cannot find it now ] that had him as John living in Mud, Mottram in Longendale in 1841. Wife Nancy was with him.
I think Nancy died in 1842 aged 82 and John in 1846 aged 79 [Cheshire BMDs]. Nancy would have been born about 1760 and John about 1767... or thereabouts....presumed to be Mottram in Longendale.
They must have married before 1791 but no idea when. Betsey might not have been the first child as there might be missing entries from the IGI, though that is just speculation because I had wondered if that could have been a second marriage for Nancy as she was about 31 when she had Betsey. Perhaps the birth name for Nancy was Bower or Ibbeson ...or perhaps not.
I am so hoping some kind person can do a lookup for me. Would be very grateful for any information you can find.
Thank you so much..
Kind regards
jul

Hello Jul Sorry but I cannot help you to find the marriage . The main church in Mottram is St. Michaels . I have looked at the microfilm for the time but it is of very poor quality . Very few entries are legible . The only other possibility would be to see if the marriage is recorded in the Bishops Transcripts . I would imagine that they would be at Cheshire record office .Sorry
