Looking for any information on a Betsey Bonnington b. 1912 Argyll, married ? was in Cheshire somewhere in 1947 according to a daughter Lorna de Legh.

Was contacted by her in Aug. this year nothing further since.

Hello

There is a death registration for Betsy Buchanan De Legh (who was born on 26th March 1912) in the first quarter of 1980, at Southampton. The GRO reference is 20 1209.

Betsy B Bonnington married Henry L De Legh in the third quarter of 1939 at Wallasey. The GRO reference is 8a 2397. They had two children, born on 1940 and 1946, at Wallasey.

Henry L De Legh was born in 1912 and registered at West Derby. I think he died in 1987 at Evesham, Gloucestershire.

Edited Betsey to Betsy to correspond with birth entry on Scotland's People in 1912 for Betsy Buchanan Bonnington in Argyll.

Based on telephone directory entries, H L de Legh (and presumably Betsy) lived at the following addresses ....

5 Wakefield Drive, Upton, Wirrall (1945 - 1950)

2 Ardullie Lodge, Moor Hill, Southampton (1956 - 1970)

4 Damen Close, Hedge End, Southampton (1971 - 1979)

He is listed on some entries as Commander and on some as Captain.

I think his son married in 1964 (registered at Southampton) and his daughter (who you know) married in 1967 (registered at Winchester).

There is reference to Staff Captain H L De Legh on the following site ....

Will have a look at that info., seems to fit the dates of Betsey, will have to look at the Buchanan name.

Buchanan was mother in law's maiden name and Bestsy born in Muckairn, no cert printout available.
