on the 1851 there are 2 possibilities for charles
neither match perfectly what we already know from censuses posted
1/ charles holyland aged 16 born lutterworth occ. blacksmith. parents william/ann
2/ charles holyland age 18. b. mowsley occ. gentlemens servant parents charles/mary.
if i had to choose then i would think number 2
maybe s.k.s. could tell me if lutterworth or mowsley is near thurlaston.
until we know which one is your charles there is no point in going any further back.

the only way you would know for sure would be to get charles marriage cert.

Hi Mick,
I don't know how you find out so much info in so short a time - it takes me ages!!

Thank you so much for all your work.  I will investigate further the not too sures and send off for Charles marriage cert.

I am hoping that the Charles imprisoned for larceny is mine - been looking for a baddie!
