Kearon(s) of avoca 1850s
« on: Sunday 01 November 09 23:56 UTC (UK) »

Hello,

I am trying to research some Kearons born in the 1850s in avoca parish. I have a Sarah, Jane, Mary Anne and Peter born to John and Bridget (no maiden name listed) Kearons. Some of the records alter to Kearns for the later children. The sponsors for the children are listed as Daniel, William and Essy Kearons. Someone might be able to help get the maiden name of Bridget or know how to bet back one more generation? Thanks

Thanks Tom.

I have since found out that John worked at the Avoca mines and that his wife Bridget died in 1867 at 29 years old. There were at least 4 children. 2 of which settled in Dublin who I have traced. 2 (Sarah and Jane) I don't have records for.

Kearon seems to be a very specific name and local to Wicklow and some in Wexford although they now are scattered around the county and up in Dundalk.
