Hello Doonayr,

Your family the Mcmillan's, are on the 1881. census 28 Gardens, St. St. Quivox, Ayr.

Elizabeth McMillon, Head, Out Door Worker, W. age 40 years, F. born Ayr, Ayr,
Elizabeth McMillon, Dau, Scholar, age 14 years, F. born Ayr, Ayr,
Dougal McMillon, son, Scholar, age 9 years, M. born Ayr, Ayr,
George McMillon, son, age 4 years, M. born Ayr, Ayr.

The spelling McMillon, is most likely a transcript error.

As Elizabeth, is down as a widow and she has a son George, born about 1877. then its most likely her husband Robert McMillan, died some time between 1876, and 1881. there is a death for a Robert McMillan, age 39 years, 1878. Ayr, Ayr.

Actually if you go to Scotlandspeople, and put in the search engine Robert McMillan, years 1869, till 1881. Ayr, Ayr. you will get three hits, two are youngsters, the other the one i stated, i think all three are your Robert McMillan's.

Regards,
Jonn.
