I found records for my great-great grandmother and her two children going through Ellis Island in 1908 (Liverpool to NY) to be with my great-great grandfather who was already there.
Their name is listed as ‘Bromwick’ on the ship's manifest; however, the name is actually ‘Bromnick’.
GG Grandfather was in NY, c/o someone at 17 Orchard Street NY. I can’t read the name on the ship’s manifest who lives at that address and I can’t find any way to search by address (I can on the UK census).
Could someone please help me find the name of the family at 17 Orchard Street in 1908? Perhaps from the 1910 census?
I suspect… this was a family member and the name would help with search into the ‘old country’ - Russia. And it could help to figure out what happened to the family in NY - they left my Great Grandfather in England and we have lost the family members that travelled to NY.
Many Thanks! Lynn

They were returning to New York, Husband Mr. M. Bramnick, 52 Ridge St. New York.
She was born in Kuastantine?

Wow… thank you for the response! Definitely same family. Although I can’t find any information on Myer going to NY. They were all in England during the 1901 UK Census.
So now I have an address in NY 52 Ridge Street, that’s great.
The son on the information you sent me, is her oldest son Lewis Bromnick (correct name) – 16 Josephine House – YES – this is my GG Grandfather and my Granddad was born at 16 Josephine House.
Konstantin (Starokonstantinov, Volhynia, Russia) which is modern day Starokostyantyniv, Ukraine. – correct.
Thank you for this. I have still not been able to find death records for Myer or Jacob in US. Both had passed by 1916. Sarah married William Brontman and we have made contact with those family members. They have no information further back than Myer and Rose/Rosa; however, it is thought that at the same time (or there about) that Myer and Rose immigrated to England, one or both of them had siblings that went to NY. That’s why we think there was so much back and forth between England and NY (Lewis travelled back and forth also)?
Thank you so much for your help!
Lynn

Rosa's husband as mentioned above is Myer (possibly Mayer or Meyer). Year of birth 1856 +/- 1 year.

Lewis immigration records? He stayed in england. Do you mean his records from Russia to England? We have information on him going back and forth between England and NY. I also have some details about a Chaim Bromnik going to New York. He is from Konstantin also. I have no further details. There may or may not be a connection. He arrived 1909 and was 33. This could be an older brother of my Great Grandfather or perhaps a cousin? - I have no proof that there is a connection though.

An interesting little bit of trivia. If you Google 'Bromnick', every of them is on our family tree under Myer and Rose. A number of the long lost cousins (no longer lost) have had work published.
