Hi Hubbard, Wink
It would help, as to the names of the fathers.
It seems you have the Marriage of John and Jane, and they married in England? so you would know the fathers names.
We need them to narrow down the field, also have you found them in the 1881 census.

Hi Kenjo
I believe i have Jane davidsons Father as i found a Jane in Huntly Aberdeenshire born 1846, Jane and John Grant were married on 17 April 1866 Newcastle she gave her age as 19 years John gave his as 21.
Janes father on the certificate is given as William (deceased) shoemaker, i found the marriage of a William davidson to a Jane Alexander in Huntly 1844 and the death of a William in 1857 death registered by a son William.
On the 1871 census for john Grant and Jane they have a border William Davidson age 26 obviously Janes brother so all this adds up as to janes parents and place of birth for her but could of course just be coincidence.
It is John Grant i cannot find, his father is given as William (labourer) and johns age as i said in April 1866 as 21 which makes his birth 1844 to early 45. lots of john Grants on scotlandspeople but none seem to fit in.
Thanks for the prompt reply
