Henry Ingles - Help?

I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions.

I have the marriage certificate for my 2nd Great Grandfather James Ingles.  He migrated to Australia but has his birthplace (1827) as Dundee Scotland.

On this certificate it states that his father name was Henry Ingles and was a Sea Captain.

I havent been able to find any information on this...  Can anybody give me any suggestions?

ScotlandsPeople has a Henry Ingles, b. St Cuthberts, Edinburgh, in 1806.

Have you tried searching for Inglis? (the two names were interchangeable around this time).

What where the names of his children in order of birth, sometimes this helps with Scottish parents - that's if he was truly Scottish and not just so because his mother happened to be in Scotland due to the father's occupation.

What is the earliest you can place James in Australia?

Hibee - i have tried to look for Inglis.  I have noticed how many times these two swap and change!

AMBLY - The only child i have for Henry Ingles is James.  James's childrens names were:
Newland Wickham Charles Ingles
Ormond John Bushell Ingles (the John & Bushell are from his wifes side of the family)
Berton Thomas Joy Ingles
Coral Annie Ingles

The earliest i can place James in Australia is 1849 when he married his first wife.
