Hi Listers,

I am trying to trace my x4 great grandmother - Catherine Richards. She married John Bailey on 12 Oct 1812 in Bilsington, Kent. John was later transported to Australia and Catherine followed him out to Tasmania in 1829 with their children.

Taking her age at marriage she would have been born about 1793. I have found a birth in Boxley, Kent for a Catherine Richards on 15 September 1793, the daughter of Delia Richards. I was wondering if anyone was connected to the Richards of Boxley or could help to confirm Catherine's birth, or Delia Richards parents.

Any help gratefully received!

Hi Janine

I've no connection with the Richards family, but found this in the Boxley PRs, which might help:

Baptism
16th May 1773
Delia RICHARDS, parents William & Mary.
This couple had eight more children baptised.

No marriage for William & Mary in Boxley, & no baptism for William. They seem to be the only Richardson family there.
