Beggs family in Galsgow

I am researching my Begg family and am interested in Alexander Begg born 1838 Wick, Caithness married Joan Cooper in 1862  McIntosh Street, Glasgow. They had 13 off a family.
One off their sons Robert Begg married Margaret Cook McMillan 1888 Dennistoun, Glasgow. They had four sons Alexander, Thomas McMillan, Robert and John. Any information would be welcome.

hope this may be of some help

1861 census- lodging house of jane ross, 55 mc intosh st

alexander begg...age 22...cooper
robert begg...age 25...cooper

so i went back to 1851 to discover who alexander's mother and father was... robert begg born 30/11/1795 canisbay married elizabeth sutherland.

robert begg was the son of john begg and margaret moody, john and margaret married in canisbay 13/71780...if you visit the igi's you get get the info of all the family.

elizabeth...25...house keeper

david...21..cooper
robert..19...cooper
margaret...16

i checked the 1861 census for robert and found that he was still alive

records say helen hume married david on the 24/10/1859. by the 1871 census david had moved to glasgow.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for response to my begg enquiry. Do you have the birth location for females Mary McDonald, Smith and Brown?
John Begg the miller from Gills, Caithness died after 1841.
Do you have a copy of the 1871 census for David begg /Helen Hume in Glasgow? I have their son born 1/5/1869 81 Stevenston Street, Calton.

Thanks for the extensive data on Beggs. John Begg 1881census 50yrs, cooper died 1905 his son was at 15 Manson Street, Wick
Do you have data on John and elizabeth Oag family marriages etc.
The other party is the Alexander Begg and Joan Cooper family and their marriages?
