Hi

Watford is in Hertfordshire. Would you like me to move this topic to the main Hertfordshire board?

Hello, I have had a look through local web sites for both Watford and Hertfordshire I am unable to find any boys home in the Watford area,I also had a look on the 1901 census under institutions it is not listed here either. If you have any further information it may help,or it may be possible to trace the individual`s name you are looking for through the census,it may be worth a try.

Hello, I had a further check with the local archive and library they seem unable to find the boy`s home but they do hold records for the board of guardian`s,this is the body that would oversee institution`s such as work houses, childrens homes, and similar institution`s,to check these record`s you need a visit in person or they would undertake paid research. They said it may have been a possible catholic institution in which case you could try a search at www.catholic-history.org.uk
