William Jarvis of Tenterden - Completed
« on: Monday 02 November 09 18:04 UTC (UK) »

Hello there!

I am trying to find the baptism of William Jarvis born about 1819 in Tenterden.

If anyone has access to the registers in some form and could tell me if he is there in that period I'd be very grateful.

All the best

Many thanks Betty - I hoped he was the son of the William and Sarah who appear in the 1841 and 1851.  Great news.

Can I be a bit cheeky and ask if you noticed any other kids in the 1820s?  William and Sarah married in 1816 so I think I must be missing a few.

Cheers

Hi Ashley

Baptisms Tenterden St Mildred

1817 9th Mar  Henry. Parents William & Sarah JARVIS
1818 13th Oct  Sarah      "          "            "
Notes for both say Tenterden (Labourer)

These could be the same family, but the children baptised as adults:
All baptised 30th Nov 1853
Elizabeth
James Julian
Joseph
All children of William & Sarah JARVIS, & the notes for all three say Tenterden (Adult) (Labourer)

And one more for a child of a William & Sarah JARVIS, no note to say it's an adult baptism, or could just be a late baby.
1840 9th Dec  Charlotte Manley
Note: Tenterden (Labourer)

Hi Betty

That is a big help!

The Charlotte baptism is an adult one too as she was living with Henry as a married woman in 1851 aged 30!

Thanks so much for your help
