Old Wills

Could anyone advise me on how to obtain an old will?  I have the details from Lancashire Wills but don't know where to send off to, the will is from 1853 and is listed under Furness Deanery Wills, would be grateful for any help.

If you know the Diocese then find the Record Office that deals with that Diocese - so for Lichfield Diocese, the Record Office there keeps the wills up to (I think 1886) when wills ceased to come under the auspices of the Church.  Most Record Offices will let you order a copy of the will by email, as long as you can give full details.

The Deanery of Furness was in the Archdeaconry of Richmond but those wills from the western part of the archdeaconry should be found in Lancashire Record Office.  (rather than Leeds where the others are held)
