Marriage in Co. Tyrone
« on: Monday 02 November 09 20:48 UTC (UK) »

Hi.  I'm stumped at the moment, I'm looking for a marriage between John O'Hara and a Margaret McSorley (also shown as M'Sorley on birth certificate).  This would have taken place most likely in the Sixmilecross area near Omagh between 1884 - 1897.  I've tried Emerald Ancestors with no luck at all.  Margaret was born in the area in 1864.  O'Hara and his wife were living in the Creggandevesky area when their daughter Margaret was born in 1897.

Can anyone direct me to another look up site or can anyone with access take a quick look for me?  Totall stumped at the moment.

Thanks

Rich

Index to civil registration is online (free)- search for bride and groom separately then cross-reference results for matching details-

Have you found the family in 1911 Census?

Would really help with trying to find the marriage.

Found them tonight on the Irish 1911 census.

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Armagh/Portadown_Urban/Wilson_Street/301282/

They were married for 20 years according to that census so that would be 1890/1891.  Both born in Co Tyrone and they were living there when daughter Margaret was born in 1897.  Their eldest daughter Catherine was born around 1891 and was born in Tyrone so I guess they were married there.  Might ask Proni to search...
