« on: Monday 02 November 09 21:25 UTC (UK) »

Hi i am looking for a birth of Robert Johnson, born 1808 in kexby yorkshire.
He married twice once to Elizabeth Piggott about 1836 in manchester catherdral, ormskirk, lancs and later married Mary Sidebotham (they were both widows)
He owned a printers in lord street southport.
I have a possible death of 1888 but i need a birth as i know from marriage cert his father was william, but i need to find his mum.

Can you guys help me?

Doesn't help you much
but not sure if you have some info mixed up?
you mention manchester catherdral, ormskirk, Ormskirk deffo' doesn't have a catherdral
only 2 Churches St Annes and the Parish Church,
Manchester is someway from there, Southport does have a Manchester Road and there is a church,

anyway above may or may not help, you say you need the birth, but first line says he WAS born 1808 Kexby?

I am wondering how i get his mothers name. On the marriage cert his father is william a farmer, but how do i get a birth cert that far back?  or how can i find his mother's name?  Grin

no birth certificates that far back i'm afraid,
you may need to look into parish records, or trawl the 1841 census and maybe see if anything rings a bell, maybe the parents are living close to the son etc?
