Marriage in Cardiff query[Completed]

I was given some family info a while ago and was double checking before adding to my tree.

The info given was that JOHN HARRY TEAGLE married MARTHA JANE NICHOLLS in 1904

However, the 1911 census shows John Harry with a wife named DOROTHY. The 3 children with them were the same as my informant had passed on to me.

Looked at the Free BMD and found J.H had indeed married a Dorothy Nicholls in Sep qtr 1904. Cardiff 11A 752

So far so good and assumed that the info given to me had been incorrect BUT--on more searching i found on the Free bmd again a MARTHA JANE NICHOLLS  got married in the Sep qtr in 1904 Cardiff.

No partner given and a  further search shows Martha not only with a Sep 1904 date but also with the Reg Cardiff 11A 752a

This name and reg had been added on to the bottom of the relevant page by hand and not typed like the rest of the page.

To confuse me even more my original info included 2 daughters --Martha Jane b 1912 & Dorothy Jane b 1909.

I know i can send for a couple of certs to try and verify details but have spent so much on certs lately that i am trying to find other ways to verify John Harry and the 2 ladies both called Nicholls and both with the same marriage date --any ideas about what happened here between registrations and 2 Nicholls  Roll Eyes  poli
