Hi, I am trying to find information on my late father John and his family. Born Oliver Joseph Michael John Colgan on 11 July 1941, Kent, England. I do not know much about him as had already passed away by the time I was born. I know he moved to New Zealand at some stage and I know he had two boys older than me. If anyone has any information they could pass on to me I would be very grateful.

Hi James,
Welcome to Rootschat.
I couldn't find an obvious birth for your father so I think the best way forward would be to order the marriage certificate of your parents which would give you your fathers  fathers name and occupation. A good starting point. Could you tell us your mothers maiden name? You could post this by a private message if you don't want to show it. Just press on the green schroll. Smiley should then be able to find said marriage.

It may be of use to pay the view credits for that manifest - to see if there is anything further on it , a uk address  for example, or  to see if he travelling with anyone .
