Topic: 1851 Census Look-Up Please George Flesher born c 1835 or 1841 Otley (Read 200 times)

Hi
I seem to have two George's, one born 1835 (according to the IGI) and one 1841 (according to the 1881 census).
The father of George 1835 should be George born c 1792.
Any help determining whether I have one or two Georges would be most helpful.

Thank you for your reply. I wish my query was now answered. I expected a George born 1841. It's never that straight forward! Instead they are either side. I really should have asked for the 1861 as well to further narrow down the suspects.
Do you by any chance have access to that too please? Could I be very annoying and ask for assitance with the the two Georges in 1861, please?

Probly the confusion lies in the fact that on 1881 census there is (transcribed as ) George Flesher age 40 b otley - image clearly reads George age 46 so a mistranscription has helped confuse you.

Thank you so much. You have definately answered my query now. As the 1881 census was transcribed incorrectly then the George, son of George and Ann, is the one I have been looking for born c1835 and not 1841 as per the census.
