Skelton Alexander's family

I'm trying to find what happened to Skelton's first wife,MARY.
Skelton came from Dromore Tyrone Ireland born 1861 to Sarah & Thomas.
I have found on immigration records in 1896 Skelton 35yr,Thomas 5yr & Ella 3yr going to Ireland,but no MARY.
Have found thomas birth record 24 May 1891 in Manhattan NY to Skelton & MARY Alexander.
Cannot find Ella's birth record,nor what happened to Mary.

Skelton remarried on 22 May 1900 in manhattan to Pauline Ochs & had a daughter Katherine in 1904.

Any help greatly appreciated

thank you for your help I didn't know of Fredrick,could Mary have died in childbirth with another child?
