Hi all,
Searching for any further information regarding the following people please:
WILLIAM ANDREWS (b1854 possibly in Liverpool, UK and d1893 North Carlton, Victoria). I don't know when or where he came to Australia.
William married Fanny Eliza Cobbin in 1877 and had Lillie, Fanny, Creasie, William, Frederick, Albert and Florence (my gr.grandmother). William's father is possibly a HENRY ANDREWS but I have no information on him at all.
Fanny Cobbin's father was WILLIAM RICHARD COBBIN (b1835 in London, UK, don't know when he came to Australia, or died). His parents were WILLIAM COBBIN b1802 and d1877 in Adelaide, SA; and ADELAIDE GUILLET born 1801 in France and d1853 in Adelaide, SA.
Any information on either WR Cobbin or Adelaide Guillet would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Wm's marriage certificate would give you the names of both his parents, his father's occupation and his own dob.
Wm's death reg shows his father as Henry.
You can purchase and download images of Vic certs https://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/index-search?action=purchaseImage
Will have a look at the SA info for you.
Cheers Cando
Edit..I see the marriage was in SA...SACert will be no help at all

William COBBIN and Adelaide GUILLET had at least ten children, the last I've found being baptised in 1844, but possibly Shaezy knows this.
William was a tailor.

William and Adelaide married on the 27th December 1825 at St George, Bloomsbury. It appears that they could both write.

Hi all,
Thanks for your quick replies!
I do have the details of 10 children for William Cobbin and Adelaide Guillet, but I didn't know he was a tailor! Thank you!
I have William ANDREWS Death Cert but it doesn't list a mother's name. It does tell me he is from Liverpool UK, was in Adelaide and then 12 years in Victoria. Will have to do some maths and see if I can figure out when he came to Aust.
Judb, I have that newspaper death notice, thankyou.
I just feel like I have exhausted everything I can, except maybe the marriage certificate of William ANDREWS and Fanny COBBIN. Cando - why won't it be any help? Were they a bit useless back then...?
I am waiting on Adelaide's death certificate to arrive from SA, and I need to order William COBBIN's.
Thanks again everyone, I appreciate the suggestions and information!

Shaezy, it says that William was a tailor on the the children's baptisms.
Unfortunately the early marriage parish record didn't give fathers' names.
South Australian BDM certificates are based on English ones.....the information is nowhere near as good as those from the Eastern states.

You'd think they would all try to be the same... dont they know how annoying it is!! haha
Thanks again, will keep searching. Oh and I don't have the actual baptism details, just notes and info from other people. Do you think it's worth tracking them down? Or just having the details is enough?
