John Forbes marriage 1798-COMPLETED

Would somebody please be able to look up the marriage of

John Forbes to Sarah Cockburn  27/5/1798   Wooler.

The page is missing on the Pilot search site.I would like to know what details are recorded apart from what I have above.

Dione,  he didn't come from Edinburgh by any chance, I'm looking for a John Forbes, a glassblower, who moved to England.....Skoosh.

No he doesn't come from Edinburgh. He is the son of a John and Isabel Forbus (note spelling) of West Thornton.

I am trying to find which parishes they are native of. In particular John Forbes to confirm his parentage.At this stage I am only guessing that he is the son of the above

Dione,  Forbus was also used in Scotland before  spelling was standardised, they both probably originate in Aberdeenshire.......Skoosh.

Wooler marriages 1798:  27 May, John Forbes of the parish of Chatton and Sarah Cockburn native of this parish by banns.  Witnesses John Forbes(crossed out)  and Archibald Main

There were only 2 marriages in 1798.

You beat me to it, Janis.  I've had company all evening and have only just got online for my nightly rootschat fix!

I looked at the microfilm original today but I have no idea how anyone managed to read the names of the witnesses - obviously people not used to writing at lot and very blotchy!
