COMPLETED 1841 and 1851 Census Lookup
« on: Tuesday 03 November 09 13:27 UTC (UK) »

Looking for all Thomas Tews' listed on 1841 and 1851 Census for Staffordshire.

I have a Thomas Tew, born 1801-1808.

In 1841 he is living in Broad Street Swinnerton North Pirehill Staffs (HO107/992/7), with wife and family.

By 1851 he is living at Queen Street Hanley and Shelton Staffs (HO107/2005), again living with wife and family.

I have no trace of his birth, and thought perhaps Mucklestone entry on IGI for Sept 1808 Huh Census says of Drayton Salop, but Drayton and Mucklestone merged according to Genuki.

However I have been told, but cannot find myself, that another Thomas Tew born 1810 is listed on the 1851 census as being of Mucklestone and living alone.

Help...

That's possibly blown my Mucklestone theory out of the water.

Even though as I understand it North Pirehill is in the Staffs part of Drayton, namely now Mucklestone.

Guess I am going to have to try to find original Parish Records, but don't know where to start, Drayton, Mucklestone or even Market Drayton.

Oh well... Cry
