Hi: Can you tell me if this is a Family History Society that the public can access for family records? Or it is better to go to the local parishes? Thanks
There used to be a contact button on the web site - I have mailed them on several occasions previously and they have always replied quite soon to my queries.
I dare say the services offered would be the same as any other FHS: if you are a member then you can access the information they have collated. I've not joined it as yet as my research is concentrated on other areas of Wales- I am however a member of those areas. In fact I would recommend anyone join the FHS where the bulk of their research is concentrated - a lot of members are not online, and they have a wealth of info that only needs to be tapped into.
Local parishes are another source of info, but their registers, once full, are usually sent to the LLGC or the county archives, hence the info they DO have is much more recent.
The two are not really comparable.
Hope this helps a bit.
