Looking for BMD or pre 1871 cesus data on: John Willocks, b, approx 1835 in Bishop Auckland Elizabeth Willocks, b. approx 1838 in Ireland, wife of above. Maiden name given as Cusic, could be Cusick b. approx 121 in Ireland.
They had children: Matilda Willocks, b. approx 1857 in Bishop Auckland Mary Willocks, b. approx 1859 in Bishop Auckland Elizabeth Willocks, b. approx 1862 in Bishop Auckland Caroline Willocks, b. approx 1864 in Bishop Auckland Christina Willocks, b approx 1868 in Bishop Auckland
The above info was gathered from 1871 census. They also had a further child:
Joseph Willocks, b. approx 1871/72 in Preston Lancashire.
The 1871 census also provides an additional mysery as to an Ann Cross who's details are provided as Mother, but to whom? b. approx 1815, age 56
I can only locate daughter Elizabeth in 1881 census and a potential marriage for Mary to a Thomas Goodier in Preston in 1884. Other than Births I cannot find anything of the remainder of the parents or children pre 1871 or post 1871 census.

1861 - the name is spelled WILCOX - in Darlington
RG9/3679; Folio: 32; Page: 5
John states his PoB as Cheshire, ?~~~~~? and that he is 30, viz born c1831. There only appears to be 2 candidates in 1841/51 .... leave you to look !
Do you have his Fathers name from a Marriage Cert?
The 'Mother' Ann Cross, states born Ireland - perhaps the name is a corruption of the name you show for Elizabeth ?

Yes it looks like this is the family in 1861. It appears that enumerators and registrars may have had a problem understanding their dialect hence the variation in surnames and so far we have Willocks, Willucks, Willetts, Wilcox/Willcox attributed to this particular family. Locating the marriage of John and Elizabeth is definately a target as is determining he situation with John's mother/mother's in law that have arisen regarding Ann Cross and Elizabeth Cusic/Cusick.
