Information on a James Lee d:26/12/1969

Hi there can anyone help I am looking for information on a James Lee that dies 26/12/1969 aged 74 the problem is I think he was Irish descent so have thus far been unable to locate any birth or parentage info for him I know he def died in Maryhill and is buried there but thats all the info I have

You probably need to work back stage by stage and see where that takes you  Smiley

Do you know wife Mary's maiden name? If so, you could look for a marriage in Scotland on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, the official pay to view site for BMDs. You could also order James Lee's death cert, with the dates and place you have, you should be able to find his entry on SP. Both these certificates should include details on James' parents', including mother's maiden name.

If they married in Ireland, their son Philip's birth cert which I think shows in 1925 will also give you some useful info. Scottish birth certs for this period include the date and place of parents' marriage, which if in Ireland might give you a start on where to look on the Irish marriage cert.
