I wonder if someone with local knowledge might be able to point me in the right direction, please? I'm looking for a bigamy case from the 1950s, possiblly early 1960s. One party lived here in north Yorkshire, and I've scoured the local newspaper articles to no avail. I'm hoping that there might be a newspaper report [or somerhing similar] in the Brighton press, as the offending party was from Brighton[ and died there, shortly after serving his sentence,I believe] Not knowing the area, I'm struggling to know where to start, and any pointers would really be appreciated[particularly if its something I can do online or by post!] Many thanks

The Brighton History Centre has daily & weekly Brighton & Sussex newspapers (Evening Argus/Sussex Daily News/Brighton Herald & others) on microfilm, but there is nothing online unfortunately.

Thanks to Jane M, I seem to be making some progress. It now looks like this case may have been as early as 1937! Back to the newspapers........
