hezre more information about the personn I 'm looking for
I know William alfred DAVIS emmigrayted from england to France and get maried in 1911 in Paris on this certificate the name of his father is William Issac DAVIS and mother Eliza Ann pauline Coleman I have also the date of birth 28/07/1877 in Bristol
I found this family on census 1881 even if the head say William J Davis and not I ( for Isaac) when i receive de picture of the census i figured it was a I
on census 1881 the information are

Is that very commun to take the last name of the mother like a middle name ?

Hi Ingrid,
I'm sorry I don't have the images - I looked at them on old fashioned microfilm!
William's middle names were recorded in his baptism entry in the parish register..
It was fairly common to use the mother's maiden name as the child's middle name and this is usually a help when it comes to finding the correct marriage for the parents.
