Is there a kind person who could look in the parish registers of Arborfield for the baptisms of Hanningtons born between 1850 and 1865, the children of John & Mary Ann Hannington. I am helping a friend who has Parkinson's disease and although I have been able to do all her Lancashire ancestors with ease, as we both live there, I can't do too much in Berkshire apart from census. The research I have done already has given her such enjoyment and I know she would love the Berkshire even more. I would be so grateful. paslwigr

Hi paslwigr,
Following on from "balsdon's" find, there is also on the IGI in Shinfield the following baptisms all the children of John & Mary Hannington;
Susanna Hannington baptised 27-1-1839 Elizabeth " " 3-1-1836
Marianne Hannington baptised 1-1-1843 you already have from Balsdon
It doesn't say whether these entries are "extracted" ones but are listed under batch No. I011129
Also Jemima Hennington baptised 22-5-1836 Arborfield, Berks parents John Hennington & Mary - extracted record batch no.C021742
In passing there is also a marriage for John Hannington to Mary Anne Bint on 13 Oct 1828 Aborfield, Berks - an extracted marriage record Batch no. M021742 - which seems to be the parents of the girls listed above.
Hope these help in some way.
Alan

 Thanks balsdon and ribbo39. I am sure these Hannington/Henningtons are going to be related in some way to the John & Mary Ann I have found. 'My' John and Mary Ann [nee Nutt]were married in 1850 and had their children between 1850 & 1865 in Arborfield. John was born c.1819 the son of Robert & Ann of Hurst. Thanks again all help is appreciated. paslwigr

Hi Paslwigr,
I would be careful of HANNINGTON in Shinfield. I did some research on HARRINGTON in Shinfield some time ago and came across a number of HANNINGTON baptisms that actually turned out to be HARRINGTON. (from films of the PRs at the Berkshire Records Office not on line resources).

 Thanks HarryW, I couldn't match them up as it happens. It's one of those names so easily badly transcribed and read isn't it.
