Trying to find out information about my husband's family.
Great, great grandfather Charles Garside (Born 1843) married a Sarah Turton in 1865 in Leeds. Their marriage certificate says his father was also called Charles and was a Flax Spinner in 1865 - would like to find out who this Charles married and when and what other children (if any) they had besides Charles.
There is a mention on the marriage certificate of a Samuel Garside (brother??). Thanks for any help. Sue Garside

Hi Sue
Having a bit difficulty trying to find them in the census.
I did find a Samuel aged 1 in the 1841 census with parents Charles and Mary, Leeds, so I am trying to see if I can find them in 1851 with Charles hopefully. The Charles I found in 1841 was a linen spinner.

Hi Sue
The only other way would be to get Charles' birth certficate. There is one registered 1843 Q1 Leeds district, reference number 23 403. This will give you his mother's maiden name.
When you order it you could always specify that the father's name is Charles just in case it is the wrong Charles.
