Hello All,
I'm interested in finding out if the records of verderers & foresters of Rockingham Forest are available, eg Cartularies, Council Archives, online books, etc? Also, have any books been written about the forest & it's inhabitants?
My interest is because there was a William Armstrang (sic) supposedly a verderer there in 1425.
Any info appreciated,

Probably the best expert on Rockingham Forest and all it's aspects is Peter Hill. His 1998 book Rockingham Forest Revisited published by Orman is a mine of information. I think it is now out of print but can be found in local libraries in Northants and may be available via Amazon. It is A4 size, paperback and has 173 pages.
