A rather dubious possibility for Sampson in 1851 - the age is way off compared to 1861, but place and occupation match.
HO107/2006/460/14 - Park St, Fenton Vivian, Stoke upon Trent Charlotte MALBOURN - Head - Widow - 73 - Longton, Staffs Sampson MALBOURN - Son - 35 - Potter - Fenton, Staffs Robert TIPPING - Grandson - 16 - Potter - Fenton, Staffs
Charlotte and Samson MALBON are in Fenton on the 1841 census with corresponding birthdates (allowing for rounding down).
Added: Sampson and Sarah name one of their children Charlotte, so perhaps it's the 1861 age which is wrong?
