Hello,
I am looking for any information on my 3 X great grandmother and her family.
What I know { or think I know}.
Jemima Mary GARRETT b 1815 Kent. Parents:
James GARRETT b abt 1780 Chatham Kent and Jemima BRAND b abt 1780 Kent.
Parnets married 26.9.1814 St Werburgh Kent.
They had at least one other daughter- Elizabeth Ann GARRETT b 1817 Chatham Kent.

Jemima emigrated to Australia. She married John  COLLIS b 25.2.1812 Cam Gloucestershire.
The first of their 7 children was born in 1842 in Sydney Australia.

What I am looking for:
Information/confirmation of Jemima's parents and siblings.
Jemima's immigration to Australia.
Jemima and John's marriage { can't find it in Australia}

Anything else about this family.

Hello again,
Just found the immigration record. They arrived here married on the " Premier" 1840 having sailed from Devon.
John was 28 a tailor and native of Cambridge, Jemima was 24 a shoebinder and native of what looks like Brompton.
So I am definitely looking for a marriage in England but have no idea where to look for it.

Hi Alison, brompton is next to chatham in kent, if they got married in this area then it is manually searchable on the medway city website, It also has baptisms wich may help find other siblings.
http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/    hope the link works. It is very time consuming but i do believe it has records for brompton parish so its well worth a look.
