If you already know this apologies, but I didn't 
I had written to Kai Tiaki the nursing journal for some articles on past Matrons and they said it was easy they searched Index NZ then were able to find the journal straight away

 Althea ... I just gave it a test on a couple of family names and their articles are indexed ... added site to favourites, I wasn't aware of it previously ... Thanks  mare

the link i gave was the one i used and it times out
surprisingly I just used it and it works again
but for first time in would pay to go to home page and start afresh and click first tab SEARCH

Hi
I also have tried the site with great results of finding at least two ancestors . one abstract for my ancestor say:
Details the ancestors,life and descendants of the Scottish born woman(Isabella Allan Guthrie nee Graham 1847-1931) whose family immigrated to NZ in the 1860s.
page 82-88 of The New Zealand Genealogist Mar/Apr 2004 which is brilliant but frustrating,6 pages of her life and I have no idea how to get the info to read it as I live in Scotland.
if anybody has any suggestions they would be very welcome.

It really is a BEAUT site !
I had a play around with it the other day, and punched in the name of a NZ-born rellie (an artist, whose work seems to have a resurgence in different parts of the world, every now and then) ... and BINGO ... up came some very recent articles from the "Listener" and the like ... which I would probably not otherwise have spotted.
I'm a "happy camper".
