Hello All,
If anyone has access to the originals, or copies, of the original Marriage entries for Grimsby Parish Church 1857, I would be really greatful if they could do a quick look for this one
17 May 1857, David Johnson to Ann Malkinson
I have the copy marriage cert, but the name of one of the witnesses is virtually illegible as James something- I know what I want it to be, but the more I look the more frustrated I get....desperate!! If this is the right name I may have found the identity of my 2x great at Last!
Thank-you so much if you can help.
Sally

Hi Sally
While you are waiting to see if anyone can look at the original are you able to post that little bit of the certificate on here of the witness.
There are some very clever people that can fiddle with the image to make it more legible. It's worth a try.

hi, Yes I could post it, but it won't really help. It isnt the original certificate/ entry-, the name is a transcription by the Registrar for the copy in the Q books, and I am hoping he has made an error. I am hoping to find what the original says! If you see what I mean. The name looks a bit like "tuxforth" or "tuxford", maybe even "luxford",on the copy certificate, I "want" it to be Tuxworth on the original!! However, I shall try to cut the bit out and post anon, if you think its worth looking at! sally

Mmm I understand what you are saying now, sorry, that the original may have been transcribed wrong which wouldn't help.
Still worth posting though for starters.
