Church of Ireland Churches, Kinsalebeg 1902
« on: Thursday 05 November 09 16:10 UTC (UK) »

Does anyone know how I can find out the name(s) of the Churches (Church of Ireland denominatin) in Kinsalebeg.  One of my ancestors was a vicar at Kinsalebeg from 1878 - 1902.  Have no ideas as to which parish it was.

He died in 1904, and I would presume that it was in/and around the area of Kinsalebeg, as that was his last ministerial appointment prior to his death.

Another point, does anyone have access to 1901 census for Kinsalebeg area?

Thanks in anticipation to anyone who can help me in any way.

cheers

If you post his name, I'll have a look for you...

The 1901 census data will be available (free) on the National Archives website by early next year.

I think Clashmore is the nearest town to Kinsalebeg where there was a CofI church - and listed as the minister there in 1894 is a Charles Carroll A.B.

I think we've mentioned him before....

the Diocese is Lismore, and the Benefice is Clashmore... not sure if that's the same as a parish?

edit: link to the previous Co. Tipperary thread on Rev. Charles Carrol

another mention of Clashmore & Charles for you from Slater's of 1894 :

Clashmore - parish & village, in the barony of Decies-within-Drum, union of Youghal, Co. Waterford

Church or Ireland - Rev. Charles Carroll  B.A.
    residence : The Glebe

neither the Church in Clashmore, or Rev. Carroll are listed in Thom's 1904
